Caring for your diamond
Lab-grown diamonds are exceptionally hard and won’t scratch under normal wear, but they can still attract oil and dust that dull their sparkle. Clean gently every few weeks with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush (an old toothbrush works well), then rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
Caring for gold
Gold is a soft precious metal, so it’s the most prone to fine surface scratching over time — that’s normal and part of how gold ages, not a fault. Avoid contact with chlorine, perfume, and household cleaning products, which can affect the finish, and remove gold jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising.
Caring for platinum
Platinum is dense and highly durable, and it doesn’t lose metal the way gold does when scratched — instead it develops a soft patina over time, which many people love. If you prefer a brighter, polished look, a jeweller can re-polish platinum back to its original shine.
Caring for silver
Silver naturally tarnishes with air exposure, especially if it’s not worn regularly. Store silver pieces in an airtight bag or pouch when not in use, and polish occasionally with a dedicated silver polishing cloth to keep it bright.
General care habits
- Put jewellery on last, after makeup, perfume, and hairspray
- Take it off before swimming, showering, exercising, or cleaning
- Store pieces separately — in a lined box or individual pouches — so they don’t scratch each other

Fine jewellery is made to be right, not fast. Ready-to-ship pieces are dispatched within 1–2 business days. Made-to-order, resized, or engraved pieces typically take 5–10 business days to craft before they ship — the exact timeframe is shown on the product page and confirmed in your order email.

At this stage, we ship within Australia only. If you’re outside Australia and interested in a piece, email customercare@oscarandco.com.au and we’ll let you know if international shipping becomes available.

We want you to love what you ordered. If something’s not right, you have 30 days from the day your order is delivered to return it for a refund or exchange.
What qualifies for a return
- Item is unworn, unaltered, and in its original condition
- Item is returned in its original packaging, including any certification documents
- Return is initiated within 30 days of the delivery date
Please note: made-to-order pieces, resized rings, and engraved or personalised items are final sale and can’t be returned unless they arrive faulty or not as described. This is noted on the relevant product page before you order.
How to start a return
Email customercare@oscarandco.com.au with your order number and the item you’d like to return, and we’ll send instructions for sending it back securely and free of charge.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll process your refund to the original payment method. Refunds are typically processed within 5–7 business days of us receiving the item back.
Exchanges
Prefer a different size or design instead of a refund? Let us know when you start your return and we’ll arrange an exchange once your original item is received.
Faulty or incorrect items
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or different from what you ordered, it’s covered regardless of the standard return window — see our lifetime warranty for workmanship issues, or email customercare@oscarandco.com.au straight away for anything shipping-related.
